Architects of Air presents: MIRAZOZO – Luminarium
“Architecture for its building is used by people.
Painting, for it uses colours and mixtures to create art.
Performance, for it’s pointless without its partakers, the visitors.
But none of these. One thing it surely is: art.” ByMG
If Sziget Festival is “wonderland” then Luminarium is it’s “enchanted castle”. This year, the 9th Luminarium, going by the name of MIRAZOZO, travels all the way from Nottingham (UK) to Budapest to add to the list of great visual sights Sziget Festival’s has to offer.
Those who have been inside a Luminarium know that the experience is worth queuing for up to one hour even in the sun/rain. A Luminarium is an 800 square metre inflatable sculpture made up of labyrinthine tunnels and inspiring spacious domes - a sensual world of liquid-light and colour. Wandering around inside causes severe visual experience.

MIRAZOZO, as all of the Luminaria (plural of Luminarium) was designed by Alan Parkinson and takes its inspiration from natural geometry and Islamic architecture.
The Luminarium is hand made of a special, partly translucent plastic that is thinner than 0.5 mm, therefore it’s very sensitive for weight and sharp objects. No shoes, with or without high-heels, and no studded belts, and no bags are allowed inside. Cloakroom provided.
The exhibition will be open every day during the Festival from 12 noon to 1 am daily (last admission around 0:30 am). MIRAZOZO is easily accessible to wheelchair users and those with visual impairment. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors highly under the influence or covered with mud or with paint cannot enter.
Entry is free.
